Who We Are
Purpose
Statement
| The purpose of
the Day School as a weekday activity of Sandy Springs Christian
Church is to provide preschool age children a climate of warmth
and acceptance in which to grow academically and socially within
the framework of Judeo-Christian principles. The Day School
exists as a service to the community. |
Philosophy
The Day School
attempts to give the child a relaxed homelike atmosphere and the
social stimulation of children their own age. With the use of
educational materials and the guidance of professionally trained
teachers, they are encouraged to express themselves through
various media. As the child matures, the em- phasis shifts
gradually to a school readiness program.
The requirements and
philosophies of Fulton, Dekalb,
and Cobb county schools, as well
as the Atlanta area private schools, are considered in planning
the pre- kindergarten program to make the transition to kinder-
garten as natural as possible. All teachers have degrees
or have equivalent experience and/or training in pre- school
education. |
